Involuntary military recruitment is known as conscription. Even before the era of all-volunteer militaries, recruitment of volunteers was an important component of filling military positions, and in countries that have abolished conscription, it is the sole means. To facilitate this process, armed forces have established recruiting commands. Recent cross-cultural studies suggest that, throughout the world, the same broad categories may be used to define recruitment appeals. They include war, economic motivation, education, family and friends, politics, and identity and psychosocial factors. The American military has had recruiters since the time of the colonies in the 1700s. Today there are thousands of recruiting station across the United States, serving the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force. A recruitment poster is a poster used in advertisement to recruit people into an organization, and was a popularized method of military recruitment. More to come from www.magazine-advertisements.com!

New Douglas Aircraft Ads published today! Douglas transports have been the finest of their time for military air logistics and commercial transportation for 30 years (1962). Here are a few reasons why: Ruggedness - The productivity of Douglas military and commercial transports has been unmatched. Performance - DC-3, DC-6 and DC-7s were the fastest transports in their eras. C-124s and C-133s are both weight-lifting champions. The DC-8 has flown higher, farther and faster (actually exceeding the speed of sound) than any other jetliner. Versatility - Witness the capability of C-124s supplying Dew Line stations and making airlift drops at the South Pole... the C-133 transporting ICBMs whole. World War II... the workhorse dependability of C-54s and the C-118 during the Berlin airlift. And take a note that the new DC-8F "Jet Trader" (1962) can be converted to any of 12 configurations in less than 2 hours. Every Douglas transport is designed and built to endure conditions far beyond any it is ever expected to meet. More to come from www.magazine-advertisements.com!
New Boeing Aircraft Ads published today! Industry: Aerospace, Defense. Founded: Seattle, Washington, U.S. (1916). Products: Commercial airliners, Military aircraft, Munitions, Space systems, Computer services. Many of Boeing's early planes were seaplanes. In 1919 the B-1 made its first flight. On May 24, 1920, the Model 8 made its first flight. It was the first plane to fly over Mount Rainier. When World War I ended in 1918, a large surplus of cheap, used military planes flooded the commercial airplane market, and this prevented aircraft companies like Boeing from selling any new airplanes. Because of this, many airplane companies went out of business, but other companies, including this company, started selling other products. They built dressers, counters, and furniture, along with flat-bottom boats called Sea Sleds. During World War II, the company built a large number of B-17 and B-29 bombers. They also developed military jets such as the B-47 Stratojet and B-52 Stratofortress bombers in the late-1940s and into the 1950s. During the early 1950s, they used company funds to develop the 367–80 jet airliner demonstrator that led to the KC-135 Stratotanker and Boeing's 707 jetliner. In 1958, they began delivery of its 707, the United States' first commercial jet airliner. In December 1960, they announced the model 727 jetliner, which went into commercial service about three years later. In 1966, Boeing's president William M. Allen asked Malcolm T. Stamper to spearhead production of the new 747 airliner on which the company's future was riding. The best-selling commercial jet aircraft in aviation history, the 737 is being produced as of 2013. Boeing is an American multinational aerospace and defense corporation. They have expanded over the years, and merged with McDonnell Douglas in 1997. They are among the largest global aircraft manufacturers, and the second largest aerospace and defense contractor in the world based on defense-related revenue from 2011.
