Eight delicious varieties of Speciality Tea Bags, seven each of the Finest Ceylon, Yunnan, Darjeeling, Golden Assam, Jasmine, Earl Grey, English Breakfast and Nuwara Eliya. In India, and other tea-growing countries, the highest-rated and best-loved teas are those which are brisk - like Lipton's. Folks say it's the wonderful, slow-ripened flavor that makes it taste better. Seems it's richer, more mellow, because its a finer tea! People drink more of Lipton's than any other brand of tea! (1953). Thomas Lipton began travelling the world for new items to stock in his store, one such item was tea. However, he believed the price was far too high, so in 1890, he purchased his own tea gardens in Ceylon, now Sri Lanka, and packaged and sold the first Lipton tea. Thomas Lipton was knighted by Queen Victoria, who made him Sir Thomas Lipton in 1898 at the age of forty-eight.
